While answering question on stabilizing prices, Wen said, “Prices affect not only our national development, but also people’s life. The Party and the government take price stabilization as something important in our economic life. At present, we’ll firstly keep the monetary flow reined in; we’ll endeavor to boost production, especially agricultural production; thirdly, we’ll improve the circulation of materials; and fourthly, we’ll strengthen our management of the market and fight against such conduct as cornering the market and jacking up prices. So long as we carry out these measures unswervingly, we’ll certainly keep control of inflation expectations.”
