In the name of the Chinese Government, I wish to express my firm support to Beijing’s bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games. I can assure you that the government will provide whatever assistance that is needed by the 2008 Olympic Games. I especially believe that, with the help of the IOC, we’ll make the Games a success, which, then, may greatly boost the enthusiasm of the Chinese people toward sports.
