I had personal experience of this a number of years ago when my husband Kevin and I were arranging help for his father，John，who suffered with Parkinson＇s disease（帕金森病） As John's condition worsened, we realized that we could not leave him living on his own . He moved in with us, but the problem remained that he would have to spend long hours alone each day while we were both out at work. We discussed with a local care agency the possibility of hiring someone to help out for a few hours each day. A succession of temporary caregivers（护工）then came and went，which was difficult for John as he could never get to know them very well. We worked hard with the local agency to secure a permanent caregiver who could commit to helping John on a more regular basis. We knew it was important to find someone that he could get to know and trust.
