What is Glorious Revolution?
The name of Glorious Revolution is given to the overthrow (1688 — 1689) of James II and the proclamation of William III and Mary II as the joint sovereigns. The resultant Bill of Rights (1689) marked the ascendancy of parliamentary authority over the divine right that had been claimed by the Stuarts.
