Begin by targeting specific achievements and accomplishments which will move you toward that objective. Say, for example, that you want to run your own counseling firm by age 45. What steps must be taken in order to prepare yourself to run a business like this efficiently? What specific jobs do they need to experience to ensure your success? Where do you want to work, with whom and for how long? Once they determine the answers to these questions, they will have the beginning of a good career plan.
