The Korean War broke out in June 1950. The United States decided to send troops to South Korea under the banner of the United Nations.When the army of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea （DPRK）suffered great defeats after the Inchon landing and the American troops were advancing towards the Yalu River regardless of Chinese warnings, the Chinese Volunteers crossed the Yalu River in October 1950 and fought side by side with DPRK soldiers for about three years until an armistice was signed on July 27,1953.
