The British North America Act
The British North America Act was passed by the British Parliament in 1867. This act created the Dominion of Canada, which united the colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Canada (now the provinces of Quebec and Ontario). The act, with some amendments, served as the constitution of Canada for more than a century.
