Explain the difference between initialisms and acronyms with the example words VOA, AIDS,N-bomb, UFO. CORE, ID.

Initialisms are words pronounced letter by letter, e.g. VOA, ID, UFO. Acronyms are words formed from initial letters but pronounced as a normal word, or formed with the inital letter of the first word plus the whole of the second, e.g. AIDS, CORE, N-bomb.
