IBRD

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, established in 1945, is owned by the governments of 180 member countries. The IBRD, whose capital is subscribed by its members, finances its lending operations primarily from its own borrowings in the world capital markets. It’s major task is to lend funds to stimulate economic growth in the developing countries to improve the well-being of the people in these countries.
