木材具有较大的湿胀干缩性,其变化规律是:湿木材脱水至纤维饱租点之前时,由于脱去的是自由水,其几何尺寸不发生明显变化,达到纤维饱和点以后脱水,脱去的是吸附水,会引起细胞壁纤维的紧密靠拢,木材将随之产生收缩;反之,干木材吸水,细胞壁纤维肿胀,木材随之膨胀,达到纤维饱和点之后再吸水,木料几何尺寸基本不变。
